RR Policy 0-50 - Background Check Policy and Procedure


All offers of employment at Red Road Health Solutions Pvt Ltd are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check. Background checks will be conducted for all the candidates on the date of joining.

Background checks will include:

  • Identity Verification: validates the applicant's Identity proof details, date of birth and former addresses.

  • Prior Employment Verification: Confirms applicant's employment with the listed companies, including dates of employment, position held and additional information available pertaining to performance rating, reason for departure and eligibility for rehire. It will not be applicable for the employees who are freshers or who are joining as a trainee / management trainee or where the company has asked candidate to join on urgent basis and approval have been taken from Head of Operations.

  • Professional References: calls will be placed to one individual, who has directly supervised the applicant and listed as reference by the applicant for all the staff who are joining at Manager and above level.

  • Educational Verification: confirms the applicant's claimed educational institution, including the years attended and the degree/diploma received.

  • Criminal History: includes review of criminal convictions and probation. The following factors will be considered for applicants with a criminal history:

    • The nature of the crime and its relationship to the position.

    • The time since the conviction.

    • The number (if more than one) of convictions.

    • Whether hiring, transferring or promoting the applicant would pose an unreasonable risk to the business, its employees or its customers and vendors.

Procedure

  • HR department will send the background check on the day employee joins the company.

  • An outsourced vendor will conduct the checks except professional verification.

  • HR department will update the details in BGV tracker and send an email to Head of Operations on the day employee joins the company.

  • Results should be followed up and received within 15 days for ID, Criminal History Verification and within 30 days for Previous Employment, Education Verification. HR department will review all results.

  • In instances where negative or incomplete information is obtained, the appropriate management and the HR department will assess the potential risks and liabilities related to the job's requirements and determine whether the individual should continue

  • HR department will update the details in BGV tracker once the final background check is completed.

  • The HR department will notify the Operations Head regarding the results of the check by the end of every month.

  • Background check information will be maintained in a employees' personnel files.

  • Any delay in receiving the BGV report will be updated to the Head of Operations.

  • HR Department will perform the Professional Reference before sending the offer for the staff joining at Manager and above level.
